Boston designated Rogers for assignment on Tuesday, per Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com.
With Adley Rutschman being activated, the Red Sox will operate with just two catchers, as Rogers has been DFA'd. Rogers played in just two games for Boston, going 3-for-6 with two doubles, an RBI, four runs scored, a walk and two strikeouts. The 31-year-old will need to find a new home, possibly his fourth different organization this year, once he clears waivers.
