Vazquez (illness) is starting behind the plate and batting seventh Friday at Kansas City, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
The 30-year-old exited Wednesday's contest due to a stomach illness, but he's good to go coming off Thursday's scheduled off day. Vazquez is batting .283/.327/.326 through 13 games in June.
