Kim isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Kim has gone 3-for-18 with two walks and seven strikeouts since returning from the injured list Aug. 1. He'll step out of the lineup Friday to kick off a three-game set in Seattle, giving Taylor Walls a chance to start at shortstop.
