Lowe is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Phillies, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Lowe plays against most lefties -- including each of the previous two times the Rays have faced a southpaw -- but he will take a seat in this one against left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Curtis Mead will occupy second base and bat sixth.
