Shenton was traded from the Mariners to the Rays along with JT Chargois in exchange for Diego Castillo on Thursday.
Shenton has played at both High-A Everett and Double-A Arkansas this season. Across the two levels, he's hit .300/.414/.566 in 321 plate appearances. Though he's had limited time at Double-A, his 145 wRC+ at the level is encouraging for his long-term potential .
