Howard (0-3) allowed three earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three across 2.1 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Angels.
Howard made his debut with the Rangers but remained limited in his ability to work deep into the game. He surrendered a solo home run to Adam Eaton to lead off the third inning and fell apart from there, allowing two singles before throwing a wild pitch to allow another run to cross the plate. Whether by design or due to his struggles, Howard managed only 45 pitches prior to being pulled. He has failed to work more than four innings in any outing this season.
