Fielder announced that his playing career has ended Wednesday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Although he'll remain on the teams 40-man roster for the next four years for contractual purposes, the slugger's playing career has officially come to an end. Fielder will retire with a career line of .283/.382/.506 and 319 home runs.
