Solak was called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

Solak was demoted in late July after hitting a disappointing .225/.295/.353 in 92 games. He's shown hints of power, speed and contact at times in his career, but he's now hit a modest .250/.322/.375 in 183 career games while homering 16 times and stealing 13 bases, a package that doesn't look very exciting outside of deep leagues. The Rangers are evidently happy with what he showed in roughly a month of Triple-A action and have plenty of at-bats to offer him down the stretch, but his recent track record indicates he may not do all that much with the opportunity.
