Ahmed started at shortstop and went 0-for-3 in Saturday's 3-2 loss to San Francisco.
Ahmed made a second start -- both coming against lefties -- since having his contract selected from Triple-A Round Rock. He and Josh Smith have split shortstop duties while Corey Seager (hamstring) recovers. Ahmed is 0-for-5 with two strikeouts.
