Herget was recalled from the alternate training site Wednesday.
The 26-year-old was optioned to the alternate site Tuesday, but he'll make a quick return to the active roster with Nick Goody (back) heading to the injured list. Herget has appeared in five games this season, allowing five runs on five hits with a 4:6 K:BB over 4.1 innings.
