The Rangers selected McKinney's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.

The move gives the Rangers additional outfield depth after Wyatt Langford (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list. McKinney was DFA'd by Texas in early July but opted to stay in the organization in Triple-A, where he has gone 17-for-60 (.283) with one steal, 10 runs, one homer and 10 RBI in 16 games since Sept. 2.
