Skenes didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

While Skenes' stat line was by no means poor, it was rather lackluster in comparison to what we've come to expect from the rookie. His streak of eight consecutive quality starts came to an end Sunday, and he was pulled after allowing three of the first four batters in the sixth inning to reach safely. Skenes also tied a season high in walks and logged his fewest strikeouts since May 23. Still, the 22-year-old owns a 1.99 ERA with 107 strikeouts in 86.0 innings.
