Overton is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Reds in what's expected to be a bullpen day for the Pirates, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
After he was capped at three innings (47 pitches) in his first MLB start Sept. 16 against the Reds, Overton then appeared out of the bullpen in Monday's series opener in Cincinnati, tossing a scoreless frame. Because he pitched just two days ago, Overton probably won't surpass the three innings he covered in his first start. As such, Overton is unlikely to factor into any decision Wednesday.
