Pirates' Clay Holmes: Returns from injured list

Holmes (quadriceps) was activated off the 10-day injured list Sunday.

Holmes went down with left quad discomfort Aug. 21, but he'll return to the Pirates after a brief stay on the shelf. The 26-year-old has a 6.05 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 43:28 K:BB over 38.2 innings this season.
