Holmes will start Sunday against Cincinnati.
Holmes has made three starts and seven relief appearances for the Pirates so far this season. He's struggled to an ugly 7.25 ERA through his first 22.1 big-league innings, walking more batters (19) than he's struck out (18). The right-hander threw two innings in relief during Thursday's series finale against the Cubs, so he'll likely face a restricted pitch count in his final outing of 2018.
