Bowlan (undisclosed) exited his appearance against the Mets in the bottom of the eighth inning, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Bowlan immediately grabbed for his back after he threw a two-strike fastball to outfielder Nick Morabito with two outs in the bottom of the eighth frame. It's unclear what exactly cause him to depart the game, but Tim Mayza replaced Bowlan on the mound versus New York.
