Wingenter was optioned to Double-A Amarillo on Thursday.
This move, which comes after Wingenter allowed three runs across 1.1 innings as the opener Wednesday, frees up a spot on the roster for Nick Martini, who was claimed off waivers from the Athletics. The righty reliever should rejoin the big club sometime in September.
