Lowther was optioned to the Orioles' alternate training site Monday.
Lowther made his Orioles debut during Sunday's win over the Athletics. He allowed one hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning. However, the southpaw will be sent back to the team's alternate camp after right-hander Jay Flaa's contract was selected in a corresponding move.
