The Orioles claimed Hampton off waivers from the Cardinals on Monday.
Hampton never threw a pitch in the Cardinals organization, as he was a waiver claim of St. Louis in late September. The former Yankees prospect missed all of 2025 following Tommy John surgery and struggled in 2026 upon returning, logging an 8.18 ERA and 56:34 K:BB over 55 innings across three levels in the minors.
