Ruiz won't start Sunday's game against the Mets due to knee soreness, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Ruiz was scheduled to catch for Josiah Gray on Sunday, but the rookie backstop will remain on the bench after fouling a ball off his knee Saturday. Ruiz should be considered day-to-day and will be reevaluated Monday, and Riley Adams will work behind the plate in his place.
