Ortiz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

The Nationals will keep the left-handed-hitting Ortiz on the bench for the second day in a row while the Cubs send another lefty (David Peterson) to the hill. Andres Chaparro will spell Ortiz at first base and will bat second.
