The Mariners released Garver on Tuesday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Garver has slashed just .175/.302/.294 in 50 games for the Mariners this season. If the 35-year-old wants to continue playing this season, he will likely have to accept a minor-league contract first.
