Marte went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 loss to Milwaukee.
The veteran outfielder clobbered his first homer since coming off the injured list in late July and his fifth of the year overall, but he missed a chance at some heroics when he was thrown out at the plate trying to score from second base on a Jeff McNeil single for the game's final out. Marte continues to play a part-time role alongside Mark Vientos at designated hitter, and since the beginning of July he's hitting .349 (15-for-43) with a homer, five doubles, four runs, three RBI and one stolen base.
