Mets pitcher Rafael Montero started his first game of the season on Tuesday and picked up a no decision in the Mets' loss to Miami.
Montero pitched five and two thirds innings and allowed three runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out six. Montero threw 85 pitches and 54 strikes.
Montero was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas after the game. RHP Jack Leathersich got called up to take his place.
