Sewald was optioned to the Mets' alternate training site Tuesday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
Sewald has made five appearances out of the pen for the Mets this season, but things haven't gone at all well for him. He's allowed nine runs on 12 hits in six innings, walking four batters while striking out just two.
