Mets' Kodai Senga: Allows one hit in rehab start

Senga (spine/arm) allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk while striking out five batters over six innings Thursday in a rehab start with Double-A Binghamton.

Senga made the fourth start of his minor-league rehab assignment, toeing the rubber two days later than initially expected after a flare up of ulnar nerve irritation in his right arm earlier in the week. The right-hander quelled concerns about his health by delivering his best performance of the rehab assignment, tossing 51 of his 75 total pitches for strikes. The Mets will likely wait and see how Senga's body responds to Thursday's workload before deciding whether he'll be ready to return from the 15-day injured list or if he'll remain in the minors for another start.
