Mets' Kevin Herget: DFA'd by Mets

The Mets designated Herget for assignment Saturday.

Herget will lose his spot on the active and 40-man rosters, opening a spot for Dylan Ross to join the big-league club. After being picked up by the Mets in mid-July, Herget allowed three runs with a 5:3 K:BB across 10 big-league innings.
