The Mets designated Castillo for assignment Saturday.
After giving up one run and throwing 47 pitches in two innings Friday, Castillo will be replaced with a fresh bullpen arm in Chris Devenski. Castillo sports a 4.98 ERA and 1.85 WHIP through 21.2 MLB innings and is now available on waivers for another bullpen-needy team to potentially claim.
