Young is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
The Mets will keep the left-handed-hitting Young on the bench for a second straight day while the Red Sox send another lefty starter (Payton Tolle) to the bump. Eric Wagaman will serve as the Mets' first baseman once again and will bat cleanup.
