The Mets optioned Waddell to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.
Waddell tossed 4.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen in Sunday's loss to the Marlins but now finds himself back in the minors. The Mets have elected to replace him on the roster with a position player in Jared Young.
