Topa became a free agent Monday after declining an outright assignment to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Topa made it through waivers unclaimed after being removed from the Yankees' 40-man roster, and he's opted to look for a new gig elsewhere. The right-handed reliever yielded one unearned run in three innings over two appearances with the Yankees, and he's posted a 6.95 ERA in 25 major-league outings in 2026.
