The Padres released France on Monday.
France landed a minor-league contract from the Padres in August, but he's a free agent again after allowing 14 runs (10 earned) with a 9:8 K:BB over 10.2 innings with Triple-A El Paso. The right-hander will surely have to settle for another minor-league contract if he wants to latch on with a new organization for the final weeks.
