Ramirez is not in the lineup Sunday against the Rays.
Ramirez started the past three games after missing a couple contests while managing elbow soreness, and he'll receive the day off Sunday. It's not a surprise to see the 28-year-old back on the bench, as manager Terry Francona indicated the third baseman is expected to require more maintenance days during the second half to help deal with the issue.
