Indians catcher Yan Gomes was back in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Tigers after missing three straight games and four of the last five due to a neck injury. Roberto Perez had started in Gomes' absence.
Gomes has not had a strong season offensively and is mired in another hitting slump. He heads into Tuesday's game batting .115 (3 for 26) in his last eight games.
