Kjerstad has become a free agent after passing through outright waivers, Andy Kostka of TheBanner.com reports.

Kjerstad has had difficulty staying healthy and establishing himself at the major-league level. He played only 11 games in the majors in 2026 and has slashed just .217/.280/.359 covering parts of four big-league seasons. Kjerstad will turn 28 in February and does not have minor-league options remaining, but he should still draw interest as a change-of-scenery candidate.
