Beede was informed by the Giants on Wednesday he's made the Opening Day roster, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Beede had a 5.08 ERA over 117 innings for the Giants in 2019 but missed the following campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery, and he returned to the mound with Triple-A Sacramento last year. The 28-year-old was reportedly throwing up to 98 mph during spring training, though he still surrendered six earned runs across 4.2 frames. San Francisco has five solidified starters in its rotation, but Beede could work as the sixth man of the group if the Giants elect to go that route.
