The Giants recalled Matos from Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday.
Matos has slashed an ugly .167/.208/.351 in 120 games at the big-league level this season. He's starting in right field in Thursday's game versus the Padres and could see fairly regular reps against left-handed pitching.
