Junis was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Junis allowed two hits and no walks while striking out four in four scoreless innings across two Cactus League appearances this spring, but he was unable to land a spot in the Giants' bullpen to begin the year. While the 29-year-old will begin the year in the minors, he'll be among the top candidates for a call-up if San Francisco needs a spot starter or long reliever.
