The Giants signed Romero to a minor-league contract Jan. 11.
Romero, 34, has spent the last several years bouncing around between Japan and the Dominican Winter League. The lefty has not pitched in the big leagues since 2018 and is a long shot to make an appearance for the Giants in 2025.
