Ruf (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Ruf joined Triple-A Sacramento for a rehab assignment Saturday and will rejoin the Giants after going 2-for-8 with a double, two RBI and a run in two minor-league games. The 34-year-old should be a reserve option at first base and left field, and he figures to receive some starts against left-handed pitching.
