Belt is dealing with minimal structural damage in his right knee but is expected to avoid surgery, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Belt has already sought a second opinion, and he's expected to receive yet another opinion Wednesday from Dr. McAdams of Stanford, per Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic. The team expects that he'll be able to rehab instead go under the knife, but a final decision has yet to be made by the first baseman.
