Paredes was released by the Phillies on Thursday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Paredes threw 6.1 scoreless spring innings, striking out 11 while walking just two, but it wasn't enough for him to break into the revamped Phillies bullpen. He'll look for work elsewhere but may have to settle for a minor-league deal.
