Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed White would be called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Sunday's game against the Rockies, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
After striking out six over 7.1 scoreless innings in his last start with Los Angeles on Aug. 18, White was rewarded with a demotion to Triple-A. The transaction was likely just a means of roster management, as White will slot back into the big-league rotation after spending the minimum 10 days on the minors following his demotion. Roberts added that White would work as a traditional starter Sunday, after the right-hander had been deployed as a primary pitcher out of the bullpen on a few prior occasions this season.
