The Dodgers acquired Flaherty from the Tigers on Tuesday in exchange for infielder Trey Sweeney and catcher Thayron Liranzo, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
One of the top pitchers available at the deadline, Flaherty finds himself in a favorable landing spot with the playoff-contending Dodgers, whose rotation is dealing with uncertainty due to a slew of injuries and some unproven rookies. Flaherty had pitched at an ace-like level over his final seven starts with Detroit, turning in a 2.08 ERA and 0.87 WHIP while striking out 43 over 39 innings. The right-hander is likely to slot into the Dodgers rotation during this weekend's series in Oakland.
