Gallen (2-8) took the loss against San Diego on Tuesday, pitching six innings and allowing three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out four.
Gallen not only received no run support, but for seven innings, the Arizona offense couldn't muster a hit off Padres starter Blake Snell. The end result was Gallen's eighth loss of the season, though he registered his fifth quality start in the process. The right-hander has been strong of late, posting a 1.50 ERA and 19:7 K:BB across his past 18 innings. His next start is likely to come at home versus Texas early next week.
