The Diamondbacks optioned Drake to Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
Drake was lit up for five earned runs in four innings during his spot start Friday, and the D-backs will now send him back to the minors in favor of Derek Law. Drake now carries a 6.53 ERA and 1.50 WHIP through 20.2 frames with Arizona this year but could still be tapped for another start if the big club's rotation depth is tested further during the final month of the regular season.
