Chafin gave up three hits and three earned runs in just two-thirds of an inning in Tuesday's loss to the Pirates. His season ERA rose to 7.88.

Chafin wasn't the only Diamondbacks pitcher to get roughed up, as the staff allowed 12 earned runs. However, the lefty's struggles are a bit perplexing after he posted a 2.76 ERA in 2015 across 75 innings, which was most among the team's relievers. Still, his FIP sits at 2.94, suggesting his ERA will come down. Chafin remains Arizona's top left-handed option out of the bullpen.
