Taillon allowed three hits and one walk while striking out three batters over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision against Pittsburgh on Monday.
Taillon cruised through his seven frames, needing a modest 89 pitches and yielding just four baserunners (on three singles, an error and a walk). The right-hander looked like he would emerge with a victory when he turned the game over to the bullpen with a 3-0 lead, but Jorge Lopez was tagged for four runs in the eighth to turn the tide of the contest. Nonetheless, this was a nice bounce-back for Taillon after he surrendered at least four runs in each of his previous four starts and posted a 6.75 ERA along with a 1.41 WHIP during that stretch.
