DeJong is out of the lineup Friday against the Pirates.
DeJong has started every game since Aug. 3. In that time he's logged a .299/.347/.518 line, hit seven home runs, and driven in 23 runs. However, he's struggled a bit at the plate lately as he's gone just 6-for-28 (.214) over the last seven games. He'll sit out Friday while Alex Mejia gets the nod to start at shortstop.
