Wainwright (9-6) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings Sunday, striking out five and earning a win over the Twins.
Minnesota got to Wainwright early with Andrelton Simmons' two-run single in the second. He then kept them off the board until Jorge Polanco knocked a solo homer in the sixth. The veteran righty is now 6-1 over his last 10 outings, yielding 21 runs over 66 innings (2.86 ERA) during that span. Wainwright is lined up to face Kansas City at home next weekend.
